The pineapple reference genome assembly incorporated data from a mixture of sequencing technologies, including whole genome shotgun sequencing with Illumina, 454, PacBio, and Moleculo, as well as BAC pools sequenced with Illumina. The assembly has undergone three major rounds of improvement applying the dierent technologies.
