Research

My lab focuses on computational epigenetics in cancer and aging. I am interested in identifying epi-mutations in early-stage cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. The objective is to optimize clinically actional biomarkers and develop predictive machine learning models for early diagnosis, subtyping, and recommending matching therapeutics. We pursue cutting-edge technologies, including long-read sequencing technology, cell-free DNA, single-cell multi-omics data, and single-cell spatial transcriptome. My lab is active in studying DNA methylation and integration with other genomic/epigenomic factors. We exploit deep neural networks and other interpretable machine learning algorithms to model epigenetic and image signatures for early diagnosis and therapeutic options.
